Panos Thodos

Digital IT Lead

I turn complex digital demand into governed, funded, vendor-aligned delivery. The technical depth to challenge the details, and the business ownership to protect the outcome.

The business–IT bridge

I'm a Digital IT Lead based in Athens, Greece, operating at the intersection of digital strategy, enterprise governance, digital transformation, and hands-on technical execution.

At PUIG Derma, across APIVITA and URIAGE, I help govern a €1M+ digital portfolio covering roadmap priorities, CAPEX/OPEX visibility, vendor delivery, SAP Commerce Cloud dependencies, PIM/DAM, analytics, cybersecurity, AI opportunities, and cross-functional transformation.

My background started in software development (Laravel, Angular, Spring, AngularJS), which gives me a practical advantage in digital leadership: I can understand technical complexity without hiding behind it, and translate it into decisions business stakeholders can act on.

Before moving deeper into enterprise digital leadership, I co-founded and operated a company for seven years. That shaped how I work today: commercially aware, cost-conscious, outcome-driven, and comfortable owning ambiguity rather than waiting for perfect conditions.

My trajectory is toward Head / Director-level digital leadership: building functions, shaping roadmaps, aligning stakeholders, and making transformation executable.

Communication range
Greek — Native English — Fluent (C2)

Basic German, French & Spanish for greetings, small talk, and relationship-building in international environments.

I'm not a pure project manager, not a pure technologist, and not a pure business stakeholder.

I sit in the middle. Close enough to the business to understand priorities, close enough to technology to challenge delivery, close enough to finance to protect the budget, and close enough to people to keep alignment when complexity increases. That combination is where I create the most value.

“I bridge business ambition and technical reality — then turn both into delivery.”

How I create control in complex digital work

01

Clarify the real objective

Separate what stakeholders ask for from what the business actually needs.

02

Map the delivery system

Identify owners, vendors, platforms, dependencies, environments, risks, and decision points.

03

Turn ambiguity into governance

Create the roadmap, budget view, scope logic, escalation path, and delivery rhythm.

04

Align stakeholders and vendors

Connect business, IT, finance, legal, and external partners around one executable path, with clear ownership.

05

Protect the outcome

Challenge assumptions, control costs, unblock teams, and keep decisions connected to business value.

Where I create value

i.

Digital Strategy & Roadmap Governance

Converting business demand, VP/BPO priorities, platform constraints, and executive expectations into clear digital roadmaps, delivery priorities, and decision-ready plans.
ii.

Portfolio, Risk & Delivery Control

Keeping complex digital portfolios visible and controlled across scope, budget, risks, dependencies, timelines, vendors, and business outcomes.
iii.

CAPEX/OPEX & Vendor Governance

Owning budget visibility, PO coordination, invoice follow-up, vendor cost validation, and scope control. Protecting value without slowing delivery.
iv.

Enterprise Stakeholder Orchestration

Aligning business, IT, cybersecurity, analytics, SAP, content, finance, legal, customer support, and external partners around one executable delivery path.
v.

Business–IT Translation

Bridging business needs and technical delivery with enough technical depth to challenge assumptions, simplify complexity, and prevent expensive misunderstandings.
vi.

Technical Delivery Understanding

A real software background (Laravel, Angular, Spring, web fundamentals, DNS, APIs) that keeps estimates honest, architecture conversations grounded, and vendors precise.
vii.

AI, Analytics & SEO/GEO Opportunity

Evaluating where AI, analytics, and search & generative visibility genuinely move the business, then governing them into the roadmap responsibly, not as hype.
viii.

Leadership, Coaching & Delivery Culture

Bringing structure, clarity, and ownership into teams: mentoring developers, enabling cross-cultural collaboration, and helping people deliver without unnecessary chaos.

The complexity I'm hired to hold

Enterprise digital work rarely fails on technology alone. It fails when shared platforms serve multiple brands, when ten functions each own one piece of the puzzle, and when scope, budget, environments, releases, and decisions have no single point of control.

That intersection is where I work: keeping business, IT, legal, finance, cybersecurity, analytics, SAP, PIM/DAM, content teams, and external vendors moving on one governed path, so leadership gets clear options instead of fragmented noise.

  • Shared enterprise platformsOne SAP Commerce Cloud ecosystem serving multiple brands, markets, and channels: eCommerce, B2B, DTC.
  • Cross-functional ownershipBusiness, IT, finance, legal, cybersecurity, analytics, content, and customer support, each owning part of the outcome.
  • Vendor & partner deliveryExternal agencies and integrators governed on scope, cost, quality, and timeline.
  • Budget & decision controlCAPEX/OPEX, purchase orders, environments, releases, testing, and executive sign-off held in one view.

Seven years of owning the outcome

Before enterprise digital leadership, I co-founded and ran THNM Group for around seven years, building and operating three business units from the ground up.

That experience is why I treat budgets like my own money, design services around what clients actually buy, and stay calm when conditions are ambiguous. When you've had to win the client, deliver the work, and cover the costs yourself, governance stops being theory.
